Directory For USA
Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making Directory For USA usable for everyone, what we do to get there, known limitations, and how to report a problem.
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to find a local business, read reviews and manage a listing on Directory For USA, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control or other assistive technologies. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we do
- Use clear page structure with headings, landmarks and labeled form fields.
- Aim for readable text and sufficient color contrast.
- Make the site work on phones, tablets and desktops, and when text is enlarged.
- Design controls so they can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Give meaningful images text alternatives.
- Write in plain language, and explain errors on forms so they can be fixed.
- Check new pages and features for accessibility as we build them.
Known limitations
We're still working toward our goal, and some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible:
- Content from businesses and users. Photos, logos and descriptions on listings and reviews are added by owners and members, and may not always have text alternatives or clear wording.
- Ads. Banner ads are supplied by advertisers, and ads from third parties may not meet the same standard.
- Third-party tools. Some features rely on services from other companies, such as the spam check on our forms and payment pages, which we don't fully control.
- Maps and complex components. Some interactive elements may be harder to use with certain assistive technologies.
Report a problem
If something on Directory For USA is hard to use or doesn't work with your assistive technology, please contact us. It helps if you tell us:
- the page or feature (a link is ideal);
- what you were trying to do and what happened;
- the browser, device and assistive technology you use, if any.
We'll do our best to fix the problem, and if you need information from a page that isn't accessible to you, we'll try to provide it another way.
